About Me

Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio! My name is Maria Pollock (she/her) and I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours in Psychology with a minor in Health and Society from the University of British Columbia.

Here you will find samples of some of the work I’ve produced from my undergrad-present, but is by no means exhaustive or entirely comprehensive.

I try to add value to every space that I’m in. I do this through (1) listening (2) discernment & (3) competence.

I believe that listening, clarification, and understanding are essential first steps in effective problem-solving. My goal is to build meaningful connections with others in order to provide the best support possible, and I find it deeply rewarding to serve as a resource for those around me.

For me, problem-solving is not always about immediate solutions, but about applying discernment and judgment to determine the most efficient course of action. Additionally, I understand that sometimes resources are limited. Not all problems are priorities and knowing when and how to tackle something is more important than trying to solve everything all the time.

Once a challenge is presented and a solution is agreed upon, I am proactive and not afraid to dive deep into the details. I believe that basic competence can be underrated and I pride myself on being reliable and having the ability to simply get a task done. I focus on delivering not just effective solutions, but also sustainable ones that create lasting impact.

My curiosity and commitment to mastering new skills keep me engaged and always ready to take on new challenges.
