The Integrated Renewal Program - Student (IRP Student) was tasked with delivering a renewed, reliable, and secure student information system as a foundation to support UBC’s academic mission. Workday Student was created as the new anchor for the new student information system that is the central hub support functions including (but not limited to): admissions, grades, curriculum management, registration, financial support, graduation, etc.
From Sep-Dec 2024, I supported the Robert H. Lee Graduate School with their transition to Workday Student as the interim Workday Transition Manager.
Workday Transition Manager - Role Overview:
- Liaison: Serve as the key liaison between the "Integrated Renewal Project" (IRP) leads and our office, ensuring smooth communication and understanding of Workday’s impact on various processes.
- Process Evaluation & Alignment: Analyze existing office processes to assess how Workday changes impact finances, student experience, and program delivery, and ensure streamlined integration with these areas.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders (finance, student services, academic departments, IT) to ensure alignment between Workday's capabilities and office needs, particularly in relation to finance, student services, and academic operations.
- Impact Analysis: Evaluate the effect of Workday implementation on workflows, systems, and processes to identify potential improvements or necessary adjustments within office functions.
- Training & Support: Assist in the development of training materials, workshops, and resources to ensure smooth adoption of Workday by staff, faculty, and students.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate on identifying opportunities for future enhancements to Workday’s integration across UBC, optimizing performance in the areas of finance, student experience, and program delivery.
